Wageningen University & Research invites applications for a PhD position focused on the spatial governance of water scarcity. This research opportunity aims to address the challenges of water scarcity and climate resilience through innovative spatial planning and policy development in the Netherlands and Flanders.
The successful candidate will:
– Investigate how planning frameworks in the Netherlands and Belgium adapt to water scarcity.
– Analyze relevant policies, regional collaborations, and spatial strategies.
– Conduct fieldwork across designated regions in the Netherlands and Belgium.
– Develop actionable strategies and policy recommendations for drought resilience.
Requirements:
– Strong motivation to conduct interdisciplinary research in spatial and environmental governance.
– Background in environmental science, geography, urban planning, public policy, sustainability studies, or related fields.
