The SHIN Lab (Smart & Human-Centered Innovation for Next-Gen Construction) at Texas A&M University invites applications for two fully funded PhD positions in the Zachry Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, commencing Fall 2025 or Spring 2026. The lab, under the direction of Dr. Xin Wang, focuses on advancing research in artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, and resilience within construction systems.
Research Areas include:
– Human-Robot and AI Collaboration
– Robotics for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
– Generative AI for Engineering Applications
Eligibility Requirements:
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
– Preferred experience in:
– Programming (Python, C++, C#, MATLAB)
– Robotics platforms (ROS, Gazebo, MuJoCo, Unity)
– AI algorithms (such as Computer Vision, Language Models)
