École de technologie supérieure (Montreal, Canada) invites applications for two funded PhD positions focused on addressing the housing crisis through the development of smart supply chains for sustainable digital off-site construction (OSC). The positions are available for a start in Fall 2025 or Winter 2026.

Research Topics:
– Strategic Planning and Supply Chain Resilience for Modular Construction: Development of a strategic planning framework for OSC integrating stakeholder dynamics, resilience to disruptions, and uncertainty management using advanced optimization techniques (bi-level, multi-objective) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
– Real-Time Smart Scheduling for OSC Projects Using Deep Reinforcement Learning: Design of a proactive-reactive scheduling system for managing real-time uncertainties and disruptions in multi-actor supply chains, leveraging deep reinforcement learning (DRL) and simulation for project coordination and execution.

Requirements:
– Master’s degree (ongoing or completed by Summer 2025) in Industrial Engineering, Construction, Systems Engineering, or a related field
– Experience in optimization, artificial intelligence, or BIM modeling
– At least one scientific publication (conference or journal) related to one of the research topics
